Parish Notices

Thank you to everyone who helped get the church ready for Christmas.  The church looks beautiful, as always.  Thank you, too, to all who have read and led intercessions, served at the altar, provided our music, ministered Holy Communion, prepared linen, exercised the ministry of hospitality etc.

Rosary tomorrow at 7.30pm. All welcome.

Brenda Trewhitt RIP The funeral of Brenda, a former regular worshipper here who has died recently, will take place at her home parish church, Christ Church Lancaster at 3.15pm on Thursday.

John Benson RIP Funeral Service at Beetham Crematorium on Friday at 2.00pm.

Baptism of Macie Hendry Saturday at 12noon.

Adoration Thursday 6.45 – 7.10pm.

Next Sunday is the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, which brings to an end the season of Christmastide.

Epiphany Gifts There is the opportunity, as in recent years, to donate towards the cost of the consumables we use in church during the year.  This has been very successful, so let’s replicate it for 2019 as we model the generosity of the Magi, who came with gifts to adore the infant King.

The Christmas Crib, blessed at Midnight Mass, is a focus for prayer, not an ornament; so please make use of it at any time through the week.  It will be in position until and including next Sunday, the liturgical conclusion of Christmastide this year.

Lectio divina dates Thursdays: 24th January, 21st February, 21st March.  All are welcome.

Mr Lester Robert Wood from Leeds (google him) is looking for people to write to him and allow him to write back.  Lester is an artist who suffers from autism.  Fr Stephen will supply his address to anyone who would like to do this.
