Jesus’ baptism marks the beginning of his public ministry. God the Father acknowledges his beloved Son and we gather, as God’s adopted children (through our baptism), to give praise to him who has chosen us.

A special welcome today to Isla Jane Short and to her family and their friends.  Isla is to be graced through holy baptism today and joins us in the fellowship of the Universal Church.

‘Girls’ Night Out’ Friday 18th January, meeting at the Station Hotel at 7.00pm for a meal. Food has to be pre-booked so please wrote your menu choices on the sheet on the noticeboard near the choir vestry door as soon as possible.  Thank you Anne Plevey, Vicky Rowbottom.

Epiphany Gifts There is the opportunity, as in recent years, to donate towards the cost of the consumables we use in church during the year.  This has been very successful, so let’s replicate it for 2019 as we model the generosity of the Magi, who came with gifts to adore the infant King.

Lectio divina dates Thursdays: 24th January, 21st February, 21st March.  All are welcome.

Mr Lester Robert Wood from Leeds (google him) is looking for people to write to him and allow him to write back.  Lester is an artist who suffers from autism.  Fr Stephen will supply his address to anyone who would like to do this.
