NOTES

NOMINATION FORMS are out today for elections to the PCC and the office of churchwarden,
along with the list for Sidespersons.  Please follow the instructions in the blue file.
Please remember that you may propose ONE and second ONE person only for the PCC, and
please obtain that person’s consent beforehand.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS tomorrow at 7.30pm.

LENT GROUP Wednesday at 7.30pm at Fr Chris’, 10 Croasdale Close.
Please note that this is a change of day and time from what was originally given.

PCC meets on Thursday, beginning with Mass at 7.15pm.  Minutes and Agendas in the PCC file in the church.

NEXT SUNDAY, LENT 4  Mothering Sunday.  The headteacher of the school has again declined the invitation for the school to join us on this occasion.  Do invite people around you to come.

YOUTH GROUP next Sunday at 6.00pm – a walk on Warton Crag.  Please being torches.

THANK YOU for your support of the Paté and Puddings evening (which raised (£100)
and the Quiz Night ((£170, shared equally with school).  And thank you to Fr Chris for his hospitality .

WE NEED A PCC SECRETARY for the year ahead.  Ideally, this person needs to be
able to type up Minutes and communicate by email.  If you could help us in this way,
please speak to one of the churchwardens or Fr Stephen.  Thank you.

WE NEED A VOLUNTEER to take care of the church gardens.  It involves between and hour
and two hours each week from now until October.  Please have a word with the churchwardens
or Fr Stephen if you could do this.

SCHOOL GOVERNING BODY There is a vacancy for someone to become a Foundation governor (to represent the parish).
If you might be interested, please see Fr Stephen.  It’s becoming harder and harder to obtain volunteers
for this, but it’s an important role if we wish the school to have a Christian character.

WEEKLY ENVELOPES New boxes of envelopes are available today.  Please take yours and anyone’s
who lives near you and who is not here today.  If you do not already contribute through this
scheme and wish to do so, please contact John Holland.  The system is confidential and there
is no commitment to a particular weekly giving amount, and it is an easy way to allow the Church
to claim GIFT AID on your giving.  If you are a regular giver who pays tax and you have not signed
a GIFT AID form, you are not maximising your giving.  If you give under GIFT AID, every pound you give
is worth £1.28 to us.

READERS Please collect your readings from the sacristy.  Thank you.

LENTEN THOUGHT
We are nearly halfway through the season of Lent, and it is
therefore a good time to ask ourselves how it is going.  Are we availing
ourselves of all that is on offer, or it the time passing us by?  God calls us
and waits with patience for our response.  Now is the time to turn outwards from
ourselves and to him in penitence and with faith in his goodness and love.
