PLEASE NOTE: Although the Bishop has lifted the ban on the chalice,
the practice of intinction (dipping the consecrated Host in the chalice)
remains prohibited.  This affects only a very small number of people here,
and they are asked either to receive the Sacrament in one kind or by
actually drinking from the chalice in the normal way.

PLEASE PRAY each day, respectively, for all who live in The Grove,
The Parade, Ullswater Crescent, Victoria Street, Warton Road and Wartonwood View.

EXTRA FOR ADVENT – SILENT PRAYER before the Blessed Sacrament exposed,
following on from the 7.15pm Mass.  Come along for the hour or just come and go as you please. 
It’s an oasis in the midst of a busy time.

so that you can send your Christmas greetings to people
in church rather than buying Christmas cards.  Stars are £5.00,
so we make some money and get a beautiful wall display as well.

ADVENT THOUGHT
The keynote of today’s celebration is joy. 
It is ‘Gaudete’ (Rejoice) Sunday – see the first word of the Entrance Antiphon. 
At the mid-point of Advent, the Church reminds us of what we are preparing for,
namely, the coming of the Lord to bring us salvation.  We are called to share the
‘feeling of expectancy’ of which today’s Gospel speaks, and to commend the message to others,
inspired by the humility of the Baptist’s proclamation.
