We have been called by Christ to follow him in lives of sacrificial service to others.  God gives us all that we need in order to do so.

A special welcome to Bishop John and all who are visiting us today for the Priestly Ordination of Fr Christopher Holden.  Let us all pray for him and for who are being ordained at this time of the year.

FR CHRIS’ INAUGURAL MASS is at 7.30pm tomorrow, when we shall have the Vigil Mass of SS Peter & Paul.  This will be followed by a reception in the school hall – see the lists at the back of church today.  School accessible for preparation from 4.00pm.  All help welcome.

THE FEAST OF SS PETER & PAUL (Tuesday). This is a Day of Obligation, and the Obligation may be fulfilled at Fr Chris’ Inaugural Mass on Monday evening.  Consequently, there is no Sung Mass on Tuesday evening; but there is a School Mass at 9.15am (in school, but all welcome) and the usual Tuesday 12 noon.
SPONSORED LINE DANCE in aid of Bleasdale House, on Saturday.  If you’d like to sponsor Tracey Paul, please use the sponsor form in church.
YOUTH GROUP BIKE RIDE next Sunday, straight after the 10.00am Mass.  All are welcome, on bikes or in cars.  Please make sure all bikes are in good, roadworthy condition.  Bring a packed lunch, plenty of drinks and some money for the customary pub stop on the way back.
STEWARDSHIP COMMITTEE scheduled for Tuesday 6th July, has been cancelled.  Another date for the meeting will be given shortly.
WALSINGHAM CELL Visit to the Monastery of Our Lady of Hyning, Tuesday 6th July at 7.00pm.  Cost: £5.00 per person.  Sr Michaela will give  a talk on Our Lady, and we are invited to join the sisters at Vigils in Chapel at 8.15pm.

PILGRIMAGE TO LADYEWELL, PRESTON Saturday.  Transport will be available, from 10.20 on the church car park – please put your name on the list in church if you would like to go.  Take a packed lunch. Directions can be given for those wishing to make their own way.  The pilgrimage begins at 12.
CHURCH SPRING CLEAN Saturday 12th June, from 10.00am, to get the church sparkling before Fr Chris’ priestly ordination on 27th June.

THOUGHT FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
When we receive the sacraments, we are infused with the divine grace that alone can bring us to salvation.  Our salvation draws us into the very life of God.  As St Thomas Aquinas teaches, ‘Grace does not destroy nature, but perfects it’.  We never lose the identity of our true selves, but those selves are transformed, perfected, by the grace of God.  This is what sanctification, in the Christian context, actually means: a sharing, a participation, in the divine life of God, who draws us into Himself.
