John the Baptist points away from himself towards Christ the Saviour. We are called to do the same. At this mid-Advent time, we look forward with joy and expectancy to the coming festival. May our preparations be thorough and faithful.

Today, we celebrate that God’s Good News is a Saviour who wills to bring us to everlasting life. As we celebrate what has traditionally been called ‘Bible Sunday’, let us pray for a real openness to God’s Word, so that it may have an effect in our lives.
