THE SOCIETY OF ST WILFRID AND ST HILDA Most people here, happily, joined the Society recently, in order to try to ensure that traditional, orthodox Anglicans will have an enduring place in the Church of England. The first newsletter of our local branch (Blackburn and Carlisle dioceses) is now available in church today. Please take a copy. If you’d like to join, there are also application forms – please fill these in and let one of the clergy have them.
ROSARY 7.30pm tomorrow. All are welcome. Prayer requests should be made on the prayer-board in church.
CONFIRMATION PREPARATION 10.00am on Saturday.
SATURDAY COFFEE in aid of the Organ Fund, 10 – 12noon in the choir vestry. Do call in if you are around and about.
READERS Please collect your readings from the sacristy. Thank you.
NEXT SUNDAY we celebrate Harvest Thanksgiving at the 10.00am Mass. Again, we shall support Lancaster and District Homeless Action, so non-perishable items are preferred. Thank you.
HARVEST FLOWERS If you would like to donate, please give any donations to Susan Garth or one of the clergy, in a GIFT AID envelope if you can (marked accordingly). Saturday at 10.00am – decorating and preparing the church. Do come and help if you can.
‘WHAT’S THAT CALLED?’ Following on from Fr Chris’ letter in the Magazine, copies of this short introduction to the vestments, vessels and furnishings of the church are available today, priced at 20p.
CHURCH FLOWERS If you have agreed to help with this, there is a letter for you at the back of church today. A meeting and demonstration has been planned for Monday 10th October (after the 7pm Mass) – this will include a practical demonstration and basic tips from two experienced arrangers from Warton. Light supper and wine to follow. All welcome – please contact Fr Chris to book a place.
WALSINGHAM CELL next meets at St Barnabas, Morecambe, for Mass at 7pm on Wednesday 19th October, followed by a meeting. All welcome.
PLEASE INDICATE on the list in church, as soon as you can, if you would like to go to the Installation of Honorary Canons in the cathedral on 20th November. Early indication will help any transport arrangements that may be made. Thank you.
CHRISTMAS CRAFTS Following the success of last year’s project and stall, Karen Coe, Lesley Simon and Fr Chris are planning another day making crafts to sell at church and around the town. The craft day is Monday 7th November from 10.00am. Please sign the list if you would like to come along, and see any of the above for more information.
FR CHRIS is at St Christopher’s Blackpool today.
Do stay for coffee after the 10.00am Mass.
Please take this bulletin home with you.
