FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT (Year B)
We begin a new Christian Year today, and Jesus calls us to ‘be on your guard, stay awake’. The Advent season is a time for preparation and renewal. Let us strive to observe it as such, maintaining a truly Christian orientation (as act of witness) amidst all the cultural distraction.
• Toilets are to the left out of the main door.

NEW ALTAR MISSAL We have had to purchase, for the first time in 30 years, a new altar book containing the Eucharistic texts, because the texts have been revised. The cost of this book is £235. It’s a beautiful leather-bound volume. If you would like to make a one-off contribution to help defray the cost, please use a GIFT AID envelope and let Fr Stephen have it. Thank you for the donations received so far.
BRITTEN’S A Ceremony of Carols is to be sung here by the Royal School of Church Music (Lancashire Area) Choir here on Sunday 11th December at 6.30pm. Tickets are now available, from Elizabeth Battersby-Hill. Please note the date and resolve to come. The choir is donating all proceeds to us, so we really must give this event our fullest support.
READERS Please collect your readings from the sacristy. Thank you.
Do stay for coffee after the 10.00am Mass.
Please take this bulletin home with you.
