MRS FRANKLAND, the school head, has decided not to bring the children to church today as a school, and this is the reason why the children are not involved in reading or bidding prayers etc.  A warm welcome anyway to any who may be joining us for today’s celebration.

PLEASE PRAY each day, respectively, this week for all who live in Grosvenor Place, Grosvenor Road, Gummers Howe Walk, Hardknott Rise, Hawk Street and Haws Avenue.

YOUTH GROUP at 6.00pm today in the school.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS 7.30pm tomorrow.  Do come and share in this traditional Lenten devotion.

PCC meets on Thursday, beginning with Mass at 7.15pm.  Minutes and Agendas are in the file as usual.

FAMILY QUIZ NIGHT Friday 7 -9pm, in the school, hosted by the Governors and PTA.  All are welcome.  Please support this fundraising social for all the family.  If many of us attend it will be an enjoyable and successful evening.

ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETING next Sunday at 11.00-11.15am (approx).  Please try to come – it provides an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to the officers who do so much for us all.  And it’s never a long meeting!  Nomination papers are out today.  Please note that you may propose ONE person and second ONE person only for PCC.

STEWARDSHIP ENVELOPES If there are any at the back of church that you could take and pass on, please do – it would be very helpful to us.  Thank you.

DO YOU LIKE A CLEAN CHURCH? We have a desperate need for more people to clean the church on Wednesday mornings from about 9.45am.  The job is becoming unmanageable for the small number who do this important work each week.

READERS Please collect your readings from the sacristy.  Thank you.

If you would like us to pray for you, please submit your prayer through out contact page.

We will offer your prayers at the recitation of the Rosary.

O God, who brought us to birth, and in whose arms we die, in our grief and shock contain and comfort us; embrace us with your love, give us hope in our confusion and grace to let go into new life, through Christ our Lord. Amen

God of all consolation, you have turned the darkness of death into the dawn of new life. Your Son,, by dying for us, conquered death and by rising again, restored to us eternal life. May we then go forward eagerly to meet our redeemer and, after our life on earth, be reunited with all our brothers and sisters in that place where every tear is wiped away and all things are made new; through Christ our Lord. Amen
Prayer when making life decisions

From all eternity, O Lord,
you planned my very existence and my destiny.
You wrapped me in your love in baptism
and gave me the Faith
to lead me to an eternal life
of happiness with you.
You have showered me with your graces
and you have been always ready
with your mercy and forgiveness
when I have fallen.
Now I beg you for the light
I so earnestly need
that I may find the way of life
in which lies the best fulfillment of your will.
Whatever state this may be,
give me the grace necessary
to embrace it with love of your holy will,
as devotedly as your Blessed Mother did your will.
I offer myself to you now,
trusting in your wisdom and love
to direct me in working out my salvation
and in helping others
to know and come close to you,
so that I may find my reward
in union with you for ever and ever.
Amen.

Into your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust N. In this life you embraced him/her with your tender love; deliver him/her now from every evil and bid him/her enter eternal rest. The old order has passed away: welcome him/her into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but the fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen

Father, your Son accepted our sufferings to teach us the virtue of patience in human illness. Hear the prayers we offer for our sick brother/sister. May all who suffer pain, illness, or disease know that they are joined to Christ in his suffering for the salvation of the world. Restore them to health, and lead them to glory, through Christ our Lord.
