EASTER  THOUGHT
[The image of the Good shepherd] conveys the relationship between Christ and his
Church and between Christ and each individual soul…Knowledge, in the biblical sense,
has a rich connotation.  It is something dynamic, expressing itself in love and service of the other.
It engages the heart as much as the mind.  Christ’s love for us is something intimate and personal;
and our love for him is a response to his call: we hear his voice and we follow him.  Such is the
mutual knowledge of Shepherd and sheep.

EASTER THOUGHT
How attuned are we to the presence of the Risen Christ with us each day?
We should be especially attuned during these days of Easter.  Jesus’ presence
infused the life of the early Church in a way which was tangible to the first Christians.
Participation in the daily life of the church will make us more keenly aware of Christ
in all that we do.  Then we shall become better and more effective witnesses among the people of our own day.

Please take this bulletin home with you.  You are welcome to stay for refreshments after the 10.00am Mass.

THIS IS EASTER WEEK so do try to come to the Eucharist whenever you can.

In most churches (or wherever they celebrate the Easter Octave at all!),
attendances are rather poor.  This may perhaps be understandable but the
fact is that every day this week is a feast day.

Windermere Road, Yealand Grove, Alamein Road, Albert Street and Alexandra Road.

EASTER  THOUGHT
What does Easter do for us?  Of course, Jesus’ resurrection does not spare us
physical death, but it does release the ultimate hold that physical death has over us.
It does enable us to envisage something other than the inevitability of everlasting death.
To gain this ‘other’, we are called to respond to the offer of everlasting life with
our love and commitment, embracing our share in the sufferings of Christ.
SJ

Almighty God,
we pray you graciously to behold this your family,
for whom our Lord Jesus Christ was willing to be betrayed,
and given into the hands of sinners,
and to suffer death upon the cross;
who now lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

We Adore you O Christ and we Bless You,
because by Your Holy Cross You have Redeemed the World
