ADVENT THOUGHT
The keynote of today’s celebration is joy.
It is ‘Gaudete’ (Rejoice) Sunday – see the first word of the Entrance Antiphon.
At the mid-point of Advent, the Church reminds us of what we are preparing for,
namely, the coming of the Lord to bring us salvation.  We are called to share the
‘feeling of expectancy’ of which today’s Gospel speaks, and to commend the message to others,
inspired by the humility of the Baptist’s proclamation.
SJ
Please take this bulletin home with you.  You are welcome to stay for refreshments after the 10.00am Mass.

ADVENT THOUGHT
What does it mean to ‘Stay awake’, as we are bidden by Christ in the Gospel?
It means striving to live as if the Lord would return at any moment to inaugurate his Kingdom.
It means being prepared to meet him; as indeed we do each and every day in the course of
our lives in those around us. When we fail to recognise him, it will be because
we are insufficiently ‘awake’.
